PHILIPS MINIWATT TS62 / 6028 / 408A

PHILIPS MINIWATT TS62 / 6028 / 408A
The TS stands for "Telefonica Serie". These premium telecom tubes are simply EF95/6AK5 with 20v heater voltage, that is 6028. Made for telephone networks in Europe...ultra rare and an ultimate spec of its kind. These are durable, low noise, long life tubes and have silver plate with gold internal wiring and pins. Popular for headphone amps, tube buffers and microphones. A pair of these in parallel would make an excellent replacement for a VF14 tube used by the legendary Neumann U47 microphone amp clones.  Best of the best!!

  1. The build quality of these tubes appears to be first class. But how do they sound? For example, compared to Sylvania 408As with gold pins?

  2. Received these tubes recently. They were packed in a small reusable plastic container and tube boxes were also provided. Top notch! These tubes are like a higher quality Sylvania GB408A. They have great detail, superb instrument separation, crystal clear highs with no hint of sibilance, and razor sharp 3D imaging. Highly recommended!

  4. Clean, really clean, very low noise floor with no discernible artifacts. very stable. Used in Large condenser microphone in the impedance conversion. Good top with tamable sibilance (capsule played more of a role here) and awesome warm yet tight punchy even lows with musical engaging mids.

  6. As we said, the amplifier adds resonance to the sound, which gives a certain tonal character. http://www.bestpracticeamps.com

  7. I confirm that the Philips Miniwatt TS62 tube is far more better than the WE 408a tube. There is no comparison between them whatsovever. The seller is reliable too. I bought a pair of TS62s (with D-Getter). No problems, no issues at all. Thanks from Poland.
