PHILIPS / Amperex ECC83 / 12AX7 Holland

PHILIPS/Amperex ECC83 / 12AX7 Holland 1971
Cool and rare stuff! Made in 1971 by Heerlen/Holland factory of Philips, known as Amperex in the US. These have closed disc getter with 8 dimples. All tubes in stock are from the same batch with identical production code : I66 Δ1I4. Tight matching possible thanks to the large quantity on hand. These come screened for low noise and microphonics.

Quantity in Stock : 25 pcs
Price : Grade A @ US$79,00/ea ; US$162,00/matched pair
          Grade B @ US$69,00/ea ; US$142,00/matched pair

Grade A - The best in the stock. Lowest noise and microphony with the tightest balanced sections we have available. This is typically 10% or often tighter given the large volumes of our stock.
Grade B - Low noise and microphonics with a section balance typically between 15% and 20%, but may be higher depending on available stock.

  1. Great tubes, excellent sound as described, fast shipping and good packing.

  2. To my ears, this tube is “sweet” sounding. It has the characteristic Heerlen “mid-hump.” Sounds glorious clean and overdriven on neck and middle positions of a Stratocaster, but thins out in the bridge. No tube in V1 has reacted so well to my pick attack as this tube. It is aggressive when you kick in some gain.
