BRIMAR 12AX7 / CV492

BRIMAR 12AX7 / CV492 / ECC83 England
Made by Rochester plant of Thorn-AEI (Brimar) in 1967. Military spec tubes with ribbed short plates and halo getter. These are very balanced from top to bottom and have low noise/microphonics. Excellent choice for phono sections.

Quantity in Stock : Out of Stock!
Price : Grade A @ US$89,00/ea ; US$182,00/matched pair
          Grade B @ US$79,00/ea ; US$162,00/matched pair

Grade A - The best in the stock. Lowest noise and microphony with the tightest balanced sections we have available. This is typically 10% or often tighter given the large volumes of our stock.
Grade B - Low noise and microphonics with a section balance typically between 15% and 20%, but may be higher depending on available stock.

  2. I received a BRIMAR ECC83/CV492 from Koray a few days ago that really changed my amplifiers dynamics for the better. In guitar amps I've found this tube works great in V2.

  3. I just received a matched couple of Brimar 12AX7 (CV492) from Koray for my Marantz 7C phono stage replica. For the DIY period, I had some ordinary tubes so in case of voltage problems etc I would lose cheap tubes. When I unpacked these and installed, the amp became something totally different. Even before a total warm-up, they sounded very smooth, very detailed and very neutral (as Koray had offered me these tubes since I wanted neutral). Would recommend these tubes but more than that, I recommend to ask Koray for the best option. Most expensive one doesn't have to be it for every case.
