General Electric JG 5814 Black Plates 

Made during late 40s and early 50s, featuring charcoal black plates with square-getter and sliver clips. One of the earliest 5814 type and practically hard to find now in a good shape. Very musical sounding tube, dynamic and detailed. Great soundstage, smooth mids and good bass extension. Similar to CBS 5814 in all aspects. These come checked for noise and microphonics.

RCA 12AU7 Large Gray Plates

RCA 12AU7 Long Gray Plates Top Square-Getter Mid-Late 1950's USA
These were manufactured right after the Large Black Plate (LBP) type during the mid-late 1950's. Construction wise they are identical to the LBP but with gray plates. And, sonically you can expect something between LBP and Clear Tops which is a later version : Less creamy than the LBP and less bright than the Clear Tops.

Grade A - The best in the stock. Lowest noise and microphony with the tightest balanced sections we have available. This is typically 10% or often tighter given the large volumes of our stock.

Grade B - Low noise and microphonics with a section balance typically between 15% and 20%, but may be higher depending on available stock.

Grade C - Lowest noise but slightly microphonic. Section balance will be similar to Grade A or B. This grade is only suitable for use in the driver stage of an amplifier, or the output/buffer stage of a DAC or CD Player.

RAYTHEON JAN JRP 12AU7/USA Internals by Philips/Amperex

Military spec 12AU7 tubes made in 1962. All tubes have CXDJ etched code on the glass that we believe it is a US naval abbreviation. These tubes have kind of hybrid construction: Like its 12AX7 sister, these have those well known Philips/Amperex/Mullard internals with copper grid posts inside a non-European glass envelope, so do not get surprised when you see the typical European flash at the start-up. The remaining tubes in stock have been pulled out of the military equipment and tested like new.
