The military spec tube 5814 was developed by RCA around 1950 as a lower distortion, noise and microphonics 12AU7. Some tubes are labeled and boxed for Heintz and Kaufman. We have the 6189 type, another military and premium industrial standard as well. Both of them physically same tubes with black plates, o-getter and support rods. The 6189s in stock are branded for General Electric. These early 1960's production tubes have smooth, balanced sound with good bass. Matched pairs available.
